Karl Kane is a designer, educator and researcher specialising in service, social and experience design. Kane also leads the University's Design & Democracy Project, a research unit exploring 21st century citizenship.
Kane's personal research interests primarily sits within the area of '21st century citizenship'. He teaches in the visual communication degree and consults/mentors within Open Lab, with a focus on service, experience and social design.
Kane leads and facilitates the brand communication and experience/service design suite of papers within the BDes(Hons) degree, and specialises in contextual-studio and work-integrated teaching and learning modes. He also supervises within the Master of Design programme.
