Māori at the College of Creative Arts
Māori achievement in teaching, learning and research is emerging as one of the defining characteristics in the College of Creative Arts. The College is proud to offer the Bachelor of Māori Visual Arts and the Master of Māori Visual Arts.
CoCA is committed to excellent outcomes for Māori communities, students and staff. It recognises that Māori communities are distinct and different in their aspirations and development pathways. Engaging with Māori provides a solid foundation to develop resources, programmes and research opportunities that have relevance to Māori, the creative industries and to New Zealand.
College support of Māori centred events has led to Māori initiatives such as Iwi Creativity. Investment in Toi Māori research and creative practice adds a unique dimension to the College’s contribution to society.
